Amazon Hikes Multi-Channel Fulfillment Fees

Amazon will raise fees for sellers who use its Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) service by an average of 3.5% beginning January 15, 2025. The Amazon Seller Central announcement came on Wednesday and included some news of lower fees for certain Buy with Prime and AWD services.

The fee changes relevant to the greatest number of sellers include the following:

  • Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) fees will increase 3.5% on average, which is less than the 5.9% average increase announced by some other carriers. For units with shipping weights of 1 lb or less, fees will remain unchanged for standard delivery speed. For units that exceed 1 lb, the fee increase will vary depending on the unit size and weight. These changes are effective January 15, 2025, and for details about these changes, go to the Fulfillment fees for MCF page.
  • For Buy with Prime orders, there will be no increase to the Prime service fee, and fulfillment fees for some large standard-size units will decrease. We’ll continue to offer 1- to 2-day delivery at rates that are comparable to the 3- to 5-day standard delivery rates that other carriers offer. These changes are effective January 15, 2025, and for details about these changes, go to the Buy with Prime pricing page.

Amazon also announced some fee decreases for Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD), which is an up-stream storage solution that lets sellers replenish inventory into Fulfillment by Amazon service fulfillment centers.

Amazon thanked sellers in its announcement and wrote, “We have continued to invest in powerful, reliable, and fast services for your warehousing, distribution, and fulfillment needs. These services are designed to support you across your sales channels, and we’re excited to see how you have leveraged them to optimize inventory levels, delight customers with faster delivery, and drive growth at a great value.”

Notably, last month, Amazon promised it would not raise Referral and FBA fees in the US in 2025.
